SPIRIT OF AMERICA and THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE AMERICA. This is a dialectic. Both objects were released in 1975 and are much like Walter Scott who at once was and is and will always be both the architect of the minstrelsy and also an unarmed black man shot in the back by an officer sworn to protect and serve. They complement one another.
This is a simple exercise in dialectical thought—an etude. Germane to the present.
